Great addition to your snorkel gear
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The wife and I both agree that this little camera is great on snorkel trips. Just a few weeks before this posting we snorkeled at several islands in the Caribbean with no problems. I see several people upset about water leakage, the only way this might happen is if you didn’t carefully close one of the waterproof doors for the battery ect. The one on the bottom could easily not be closed all the way, just be careful and you’ll have no problems. I took this camera down several times to about 15ft depth to take pics on the bottom and they came out fine. The trick is to have good sunlight at the right angle. We took hundreds of pics over a few days and most of them were gorgeous. Clouds of tiny fish or just some nice stills of the sea bottom with larger fish coasting along. You must remember to buy the extra AKT-DC1 accessory kit and tether it to you because this camera is a tad bulbous and feels odd in the hands sometimes and it does not float.

    great camera

This camera is great. It takes excellent pics and is extremely user friendly. The only draw back is if you use it for 5 hours straight the battery starts to go on you. So for long trips I suggest buying 2 batteries. We took it to Hawaii and we used it everywhere, including all the beautiful oceans and pools. Great Buy!

    Adventure Camera

I really like this little camera but it does have a few minor flaws. When in wet environment the lens with reflect light and you don’t realize it until you can enlarge picture and or see it not in full sun. We were Kyaking and got several badly fogged pictures. This is probably just a learning problem. I am disappointed in how hard to erase a picture–again learning curve.

    AMAZING!

We looked at the Olympus Tough and the Canon and went with the Canon because reviews said the picture quality was better and no one mentioned leaks. I was skeptical when I threw the camera in the ocean for the first time, but the waterproof claims held true. Underwater pictures are awful unless you are in underwater mode (it took me a minute to figure that one out). Beach pictures are orangy in underwater mode, but we often left it in this mode for ease of use. Video quality is also very good, and with an 8GB SDHC card we could hold over 3000 pictures.

We were in Jamaica and spent every day on the beach. This camera never left our side. Whether its on the beach, kayaking, snorkeling, water skiing or sailing, this camera makes the perfect vacation companion.

Definitely get a floating strap though, just in case.

    ENJOY!

    camera review

This camera has great clarity and flash/zoom ability, I can take a pic in a completely dark room and it looks as if all the lights are on. Still getting the features down cause when I took an underwater pic it came out fuzzy like it was reflecting the water. However I am still learning to use it so I prolly had it on the wrong setting.
