Not very practical
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I had high hopes for this little gadget with my SD790. I have the hard-plastic underwater housing that Canon makes for their smaller SD110, and that is a truly brilliant little device, which I’ve used for lots of casual underwater photography; it was expensive but worth it.
This one proves the adage that the most expensive thing is a cheap thing you don’t use. It’s difficult to get the camera into and out of, it fogs up, even when not fogged the transparency is not great, and it’s very difficult to operate the controls.
My recommendation: either spring for a real hard plastic underwater housing made specifically for your camera, or get an old-fashioned underwater disposable.
Problem with shipping

Ordered this product 9 days before vacation and paid extra for two day delivery. Product never arrived. To their credit, 42nd Street Photo promptly refunded my purchase.
pretty decent for the price

I bought this housing because I was going on a trip to the Bahamas. I wanted something to protect my brand new camera from sand and water and such… Good thing because I was there for the tail end of a hurricane…
The housing did it’s job, it protected my camera like I wanted it to. I was a little nervous to put it underwater since the directions emphasize doing a water test before each use. I didn’t want to submerge it completely under water, but it did get splashed a few times and my camera was fine. The only complaint I have is you could see a ring around your image if zoomed all the way out. There are adaption pieces probably to correct that, but they don’t explain how it’s supposed to work exactly. It’s just a picture, no written directions so it’s possible that that’s correctible and I just didn’t do it right.
All in all, this product did what I needed it to do without me having to spend a lot of money, but I think I would feel safer and prefer to use the hard case housing that is fitted more to my exact camera.
Camera Case was cheap and broke 1st day…

Product is not well made, and the plastic center that screws on/off
is suceptible to cracking. My new case broke within minutes…
Bad Product, do not buy.
Good value for a quick trip

My cousin bought one and left it for me. I’m in the water every day and the case got used about 7 times which would be fine for any holiday maker who wanted it for a weeks vacation or so. It developed a crack last time I went and so I wouldn’t use it again but when it was fine the case worked absolutely fine- I’ve taken some great photos with it. Its a really cheap product and perfect if you’re just going on vacation and want to take your camera in rather than buying expensive underwater cameras at 20 bucks a pop.
